About Me

I come from a small town called Helston, Cornwall in the south west of England. I started snowboarding when I was 18 on a Southampton University "Try It You Might Like It!" taster session. After 30 minutes on the dry slope I decided I liked it enough to sign up there and then for the Christmas trip to Val D'Isere. After spending a week on the snow I was hooked, and have been ever since!

During my degree I was able to spend my year abroad in Chile. I lived in the mountains over winter so I could snowboard everyday while still improving my Spanish.  Over the last 6 years I've gained a language degree and travelled the world working and snowboarding.

I am spending this winter in Mayrhofen, Austria (well actually in a small town called Stumm in the Zillertal valley, a 20 minute train ride from Mayrhofen). With the Tirol Snow Card season pass I have access to over 80 ski resorts, which will give me lots of flexibility to ride different terrain, snow parks and compete around the area.

I have been doing back to back winter seasons for the last 3 years, so this summer instead of returning to New Zealand for the whole winter, I may spend some time pursuing my second favourite sport, wakeboarding.
